Review procedure
Welcome to OTTISK magazine (The “Journal”), published by the editorial board with the support of the expert council. This document regulates the procedure for reviewing manuscripts. By submitting the material to the Journal, the author agrees to these rules.
1. General provisions
● All scientific articles, essays and reviews submitted to the editorial board that correspond to the subject of the Journal are subject to review.
● The review procedure is a mandatory step before making a decision on publication.
● The editorial board reserves the right to reject the manuscript at the preliminary review stage without external review.

2. Double-blind review procedure
● All articles are double-blind reviewed: neither the author nor the reviewer knows each other’s identity.
● The reviewers are members of the editorial board or invited experts with academic degrees and publication activity in the relevant field.
● The review period is up to 4 weeks from the moment the manuscript is assigned to the reviewer.

3. Review requirements
● The review should contain an objective analysis of the scientific novelty, methodological rigor and argumentation of the author.
● The reviewer indicates recommendations: accept for publication; accept after revision; reject.
● The review is signed (in electronic form) and submitted to the editorial office within the time period agreed with the editor.

4. Working with the author
● The author receives an anonymized review with recommendations within 5 working days after the examination is completed.
● If necessary, the author is given up to 30 days to make edits.
● Repeated review of the revised article is carried out in an expedited manner (up to 2 weeks).

5. Ethical standards and confidentiality
● Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality: do not disclose the contents of the manuscript and do not use the materials before publication.
● A conflict of interest is the basis for replacing the reviewer.

● The author has the right to file a reasoned appeal against the editorial board’s decision within 14 days from the date of notification.
● The appeal is considered by the editor-in-chief or an independent arbitrator from the editorial board.
● After publication, corrections (erratum) or a review of the article (retraction) are possible in consultation with the author and the editorial board.

● The Editorial board reserves the right to make changes to this procedure. The current version is published on the Journal’s website.
● Continued cooperation with the Journal after updating the rules means that the author agrees to the new terms.
